Lawrence obtained the Bachelor of Laws in London University and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in the City University of Hong Kong. He became a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1999.
His main practice areas include Civil and Criminal Litigation, Employees’ Compensation and Personal Injuries Claim, Conveyancing, Intellectual Property, Business Acquisition, Shareholder’s Agreement, Employment, Bankruptcy and Insolvency, Debt Restructuring, Individual Voluntary Arrangement, Matrimonial Proceedings and Probate.
He is also a Legal Aid Panel Solicitor and Civil Celebrant of Marriages. Mr. Chung is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Prior to joining Cheung & Choy, Vijay has worked in the Corporate Department of a leading local law firm for over 7 years, focusing on funds related matters, and corporate financial matters such as pre-IPO works, IPO works, securities works and mergers & acquisitions works.
Apart from the usual listing works which Vijay is experienced in, he also advises clients (listed on the Main Board or the Growth Enterprise Market in Hong Kong) on other corporate financial issues such as disclosure requirements, corporate governance and compliance with listing rules matters, publication requirements etc. He has also handled a large number of setting up of funds and relevant advisory work.
Vijay has extensive experience in private equity, list of funds completed and handled by Vijay:
A Sino-Dubai fund with an expected size of US$1 billion;
A Sino-Japanese fund with an expected size of US$250 million;
A PRC fund with an expected size of US$1 billion;
A PRC fund with an expected size of US$1 billion; and
A Sino - Middle-east fund with an expected size of US$200 million.
Vijay is a solicitor qualified in both the jurisdictions of Hong Kong, and England & Wales. He obtained his LLB degree at the University of London in 2001, and then obtained his Post Graduate Certificate in Laws from the City University in Hong Kong in 2002.
Apart from being an experienced lawyer, Vijay is also the Honorary Vice-Consul General of Maldives in Hong Kong the Honorary Secretary of the India Association of Hong Kong and a Member of the Institute of Compliance Officer (ICO).
Charlotte has more than 10 years’ experience in corporate finance and compliance works. Charlotte’s practice focuses on initial public offerings on the Main Board or the Growth Enterprise Market of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited by Hong Kong and PRC companies and ongoing compliance by listed issuers including dual listed issuers, mineral company and infrastructure company. The ongoing compliance works include advising on various disclosure, regulatory, compliance, corporate governance and general corporate matters.
